OUR ZERO-WASTE PHILOSOPHY

Our slow fashion garments are hand-crafted and serve to support Indian women in the workplace as well as the preservation of ancient methods of textile production. We follow a zero-waste design and production process and produce minimal quantities to eliminate any possibility of excess waste. Every purchase contributes to women empowerment projects in India through our charity partners and supports local Indian communities to continue their sustainable hand-craftsmanship for future generations.

Due to their limited and unique nature, returned items (excluding final sale items) are eligible for a store credit in the form of a Daughters of India Gift Card.

LODGE A RETURN

To lodge a return, please visit our Returns Portal

  • Returns are accepted within 30 days from shipment. Unfortunately we are unable to honour a return outside of the 30 day return period.

  • Items must be returned in original condition - unworn, unwashed, with tags attached.

  • Shipping costs and custom duties &  taxes are non-refundable.

  • Exchanges are available for Australian orders on the same item in a smaller or larger size. A prepaid shipping label will be provided with a $15 shipping fee.

  • Returns are refunded via store credit in the form of a Daughters of India Gift Card. For orders placed within Australia and the United States, a return shipping label will be provided. For all other international orders, customers are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of return shipping using their preferred carrier. We strongly recommend choosing a trackable shipping service.

  • Final sale items: no returns, store credits, or exchanges on final sale items.

  • Once you have placed your order we are unable to make any changes. This includes cancelling or swapping of any sizes or items within your order. Rest assured we do have a flexible returns policy should you receive your order and it’s not quite right for you.

  • We aim to process returns as quickly as possible. As we are a small team please allow up to 5 business days for your return to be processed once we receive the item. Please be aware of processing delays for Sale/Discount/Promotion items.

  • We are unable to offer price adjustments for promotions and discounts. Promotions and discounts cannot be applied retroactively to orders placed before a promotion commenced or after it has concluded.

  • Please note Daughters of India provides full responsibility for incorrectly supplied items. Should there be such an issue with your order please email our customer service team hello@daughtersofindia.net

LOST OR MISSING RETURNS

Lost or missing returns are not the responsibility of Daughters of India. We strongly advise to use a trackable return shipping service to ensure your return is delivered to our warehouse safely.

All prices include VAT and import duties — no hidden fees at delivery. Our slow fashion garments are handcrafted in India and shipped to you from our warehouse in Tweed Heads, NSW.

We are a small team however we endeavour to process your order within 1–3 business days. Orders are shipped via DHL Express and you’ll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. Delivery typically takes 3–8 business days; exact rates and timings are shown at checkout.

Love it or swap it — you have 30 days from shipment to return any piece for store credit — valid five years, on anything we make.

  • Post your return with any tracked carrier, and keep your receipt until your credit lands.
  • Pieces come back unworn and unwashed, with tags attached.
  • Once your return arrives, we process it within 5 business days.
  • Final sale pieces aren’t eligible. Faulty pieces are always made right.
